There is no denying that this presidential race is one for the books. Political scientists, journalists and politicians have continued to remark on the unusual nature of this election. But this sentiment is not just expressed by the political elite- it is clear that voters sense the charged political environment as well.

In fact, 85 percent of voters surveyed in the latest FOX News Poll said that there is more at stake in the presidential election this year compared to the past. For a point of reference, 70% of voters responded to the same question in a survey conducted during the 2012 election.
